Has anyone ever heard of menopause symptoms be really really bad?

I have just started menopause or at least the part with no more periods. And for the last 8 years I have had anxiety and panic attacks. Well now that my periods are gone ( no periods in 4 months) I feel like I am going crazy. My anxiety is so bad I can't stand myself. I forget everything and the hot flashes are 6 to 8 times and day.
